Back to the Grind: 7 Journal Prompts to Re-Engage After the Holidays

The holidays are over, the decorations are (mostly) put away, and the festive feeling is fading. It's time to face the music—the new year is here, and the return to work comes with it. Whether you're excited, dreading it, or somewhere in between, shifting gears and returning to a productive rhythm can be tough.

To help you embrace the fresh start that the new year brings and re-docus on your work, I've put together seven journal prompts to get your thoughts flowing:

1. Monday: Reflect and Recharge: What did you learn or gain from your time off? How can you carry those positive experiences or insights into your work life?

2. Tuesday: Goal Setting: What are your top professional goals for this year? What is your top goal for this month? This week? What's your first action to achieve one of these goals today?

3. Wednesday: Prioritize and Plan: What are your week's most important tasks and projects? What about next week? How can you prioritize them effectively to avoid feeling overwhelmed?

4. Thursday: Shake Things Up: Is there anything you'd like to do differently in your work this year? A new approach to a recurring task, a different way of managing your time, or a new skill you want to develop?

5. Friday: Embrace the Energy: What are you most looking forward to in your work this year? What opportunities excite you?

6. Saturday: Boundary Setting: How can you create a better work-life balance this year? What boundaries do you need to set to protect your time and energy?

7. Sunday: Cultivate Gratitude: What are you grateful for in your work life? Reflecting on the positive aspects of your job can boost your mood and motivation.

Happy New Year, and here's to a productive and fulfilling year ahead!
